Chapter 1
The Manor
You lay on the ground, so cold, you hear wailing and ravenous growls all around. You open
your eyes only to see how dark it truly is, faded trees and bushes being the only
recognizable shapes. The harsh wind biting at your flesh you look around for shelter and
after you eyes adjust to the dark, you can see a house in the distance you choose to walk to
it after many agonizing minutes wandering through sharp bushes and dead trees their trunks
diameter larger than your height, you finally reach the front porch, the house much larger
than you thought more like an extravagant manor than the large cabin you thought it was,
a warm light flowing out of the windows inviting you in, but trying to peak in the windows
they are covered with newspapers their age and the copius amount of glue holding them in
place making the words unreadable. You go to the front door the stained glass creating
wonderful shadows dancing around on the porch, you hesitate to knock but the harsh wind
quickly reminds you why you came here. You knock on the door, a few seconds later hearing
soft thuds quickly coming to the door. A large wolfwoman opens the door, in that moment she
is towering over you, "what are you doing in the forest at this time." she says with worry
in her voice, "you need to get inside, I have a guestroom come with me" she hastily brings
you to the guestroom along the way the ivory-crowned hallways catching in your attention
almost hypnotizing, you come back to reality you realize how hard the woman is holding your
arm before you can say anything you are thrown in a room almost falling over hitting a
dresser on the way, catching your breath you notice all the strange skulls and insects on
the walls, the skulls are like nothing you have ever seen, the horns too long, the eyes too
close, the teeth too large, too sharp, some seemingly had two eyes when they were alive.
They enamour you until the plentiful cuts and scrapes on your arms and legs resume stinging.
